Are there any hidden fees in the syndicate?

No - all costs are fully transparent. The only time we may ask for an additional contribution is in the rare case of a major race entry or significant veterinary surgery. In over thirteen years, this has never been necessary.

Are there social events for syndicate owners?

Yes. We hold monthly meetings and a special dinner in October or November, giving partners the chance to socialise, share updates, and enjoy the Fred Archer Racing community.

Can I attend gallops or visit the stables to see my horse?

Absolutely. Owners are welcome on the first Friday of every month to visit Pegasus Stables in Newmarket and watch their horses on the gallops.

Can I be part of a syndicate with one of the best trainers in Newmarket?

Yes. James Fanshawe is among the most respected and successful trainers in the UK, and every Fred Archer Racing syndicate horse is trained under his expert care.

Can I go into the parade ring before a race?

Yes, syndicate owners are entitled to parade ring access, offering a true racehorse ownership experience.

Can I name my horse?

Yes. Syndicate partners can suggest names, and everyone votes to create a shortlist of three. James and Jacko Fanshawe then make the final selection.

Can I sell or transfer my syndicate share?

Yes, provided all payments are up to date. We’re happy to help facilitate a smooth transfer process if needed.

Can I visit the winner’s enclosure if my horse wins?

Yes - one of the most special moments of racehorse ownership is celebrating in the winner’s enclosure with your horse and fellow partners.

Do owners receive racecourse badges and tickets?

Yes. Each shareholder receives one Owner’s Badge for race days, granting exclusive access to the Owners & Trainers areas and the parade ring.

Are vets available on-site?

Yes. Our head lads handle minor issues, and the best equine vets in the UK are minutes away for any emergencies or specialised care.

Do you provide race previews and post-race reviews?

Yes. Owners receive race previews, post-race reports, and updates through The Racing Manager App.

How is prize money shared?

All racing transactions (debits andcredits) are processed through the syndicate Weatherbys Bank Racing Account andany surplus monies, including any prizemoney, will be distributed according tomember percentages at the end of October, or thereabouts, on an annual basis.

How are racing colours decided?

Fred Archer Racing Syndicates already have registered racing colours in our signature maroon and dark blue.

How can I join one of the best value racehorse ownership syndicates in the UK?

Who decides which races my horse will run in?

Race placement is determined by our trainer, James Fanshawe, based on the horse’s progress, ability, and suitability.

Who decides my horse’s training programme?

Your horse’s training plan is developed by James Fanshawe, ensuring a patient, professional approach that brings out each horse’s best potential.

How long does ownership last?

Each syndicate typically runs for two years.

How often will I receive updates?

Regular updates, photos, and videos are sent via The Racing Manager App, so you always know how your horse is doing.

How quickly can a vet be called if needed?

Immediately - our staff are trained to act fast and contact our vets at the first sign of concern.

How successful is the stable?

James Fanshawe’s stable has achieved over 20 Group 1 wins and 2 Grade 1 victories - a proven record of excellence.

What are the costs involved in joining?

Costs depend on the purchase price of the horse plus 12months’ training fees, currently around £4,800 including VAT - offering exceptional value for elite-level ownership.

What facilities are available at Pegasus Stables?

Pegasus Stables offers a calm, historic setting with excellent turn-out paddocks and a peaceful atmosphere - perfect for horses to thrive.

What happens if my horse gets injured?

Our vet is called immediately, and we ensure the best possible care and recovery plan.

What happens if my horse is good enough for a major race?

We’ll discuss race entries with the trainer and owners. The syndicate will always be informed and involved in any big-race decisions.

What if my horse needs rest or a holiday?

Horses enjoy downtime at trusted country facilities where they can relax and recover in quiet surroundings.

What happens when my horse retires?

Depending on circumstances, the horse may go to the sales for continued racing or be rehomed responsibly to a loving new home.

Are the horses insured?

Yes. All Fred Archer Racing Syndicate horses are insured, including emergency surgery cover.

Who looks after my horse daily?

Your horse is cared for by our experienced stable staff, ensuring daily attention, feeding, and grooming.

Can I choose a different trainer?

No. All syndicate horses are trained exclusively by JamesFanshawe at Pegasus Stables.

Why is Newmarket known as the home of British racing?

Will I meet the jockey after the race?

Yes. Owners often meet the jockey for a debriefand photo opportunity after the race.

Will I get photos and videos of my horse in training?

Yes. We send regular photo and video updates through TheRacing Manager App.

Will I know when my horse is entered to run?

Yes. You’ll always be informed in advance of race entriesand running plans.

Will my horse run on the flat or over jumps?

All Fred Archer Racing Syndicate horses run on the flat only.
