Pegasus Stables

James Fanshawe feels he is very lucky to be training from such a beautiful yard as Pegasus Stables.

Front Yard

Each morning the horses collect on an attractive privet enclosed polytrack ride. Jame's and Assistant Charlie Fellowe's watch the horses to make sure that they are sound before embarking for The Heath.

White YardBuilt at the end of the nineteenth century the boxes have great ventilation, which is something that James feels is very important. The new boxes at Pegasus were constructed to the same specifications as the ones built nearly one hundred and twenty years before.

We have a horse walker and turn out paddocks and everyday from about April onwards the horses have a pick of grass when they come in from exercise for 15 minutes.  The horses that have just have run are turned out the day after.  A lot of the fillies and geldings get turned out during evening stables if the weather is nice.

Rolling RingThe newest addition is a  rolling ring that a lot of the horses love going in. It is quite difficult to catch some of them when you want to take them in.  We also have an excellent lunge pit which we use when breaking the Dan Chillingworthhorses in the autumn.

The feed the horses get is the best.  Our oats come from Canada and they get a mixture of American and the best English hay.

The best facility we have is the tranquil environment.  Once the horses are back in their box after exercise they relax from the peaceful atmosphere.
