Silky Smooth for BOMBYX
Posted on: 6th Jul 2018
Two runners were withdrawn before the race but the two fancied horses both turned up. the betting suggested it was beaten BOMBYX and Roger Charltons impressive Salisbury winner Polish. Daniel Muscutt got a lovely lead off Clooney who took him to the two furlong marker where he dropped away quickly and from then on BOMBYX had no competition. Polish did not seem to be enjoying the race and was never really going with Harry bentley having to push him most of the way.
James has always held BOMBYX in high regard but he is really just growing up and showing us what a nice horse he is. Daniel Muscutt rides him out everyday and knows him as well as anyone.
His owners are Victoria and Anthony Pakenham who also owned BOMBYX'S sire Sir Percy. He enjoyed the good to firm ground at Doncaster which is the first time he has raced on it.
