Stoney Broke
Stoney Broke wins British Masters At Close House Fillies' Handicap

Last week we had three firsts, two seconds, a fourth and a nowhere which was not bad. All the winners were fillies. They all won well so it will be interesting to see what their handicap marks are going to be. Hopefully the handicapper wont be too hard on them.

STOENY BROKE is a well bred filly by Dansili out of ALVEE. ALVEE is a half sister to Allegretto and whose dam Alleluia is a half sister to the dams of Aussie Rules, Yesterday and Alborada. ALVEE herself was not a brilliant racehorse at best finishing third but she is by a brilliant broodmare sire in Key of Luck. James has always liked STONEY BROKE and hopefully she will be able to go on to better things.

LADY BERGAMOT was bought at the Arqana October Sales in 2015. We were very interested in her as we had her half brother LORD GEORGE and luckily we were able to persuade our friend and builder Andrew Turner to buy her. She looks to be the type that will improve with her age as she is quite a big filly like her brother.

SUSPECT PACKAGE runs tonight at Windsor. He came from the Breeze Up Sales and can be a little bit gassy but Daniel Muscutt is usually very good at riding those sort of horses. Hopefully he will run well tonight as he has been going nicely at home.

Tomorrow we have SINGAPORE SLING and ENVISAGING at Yarmouth. We would like to think that they will both run well as they look in good form at home. SINGAPORE SLING was second last time out at Newcastle and ENVISAGING fourth at Kempton. Little NATHALIE runs at Ripon on Wednesday. She is a charming filly who is not very big but has a big heart. She ran an excellent first race to finish fourth and we were delighted with her.

It is a pretty quiet week for us. Everybody is gearing up for Royal Ascot. We wont have many runners but just to have one is very exciting. If it became very soft HIGHER POWER might run in The Ascot Gold Cup but it is more unlikely than likely at this stage. ARTHENUS & STAR STORM could run in the Hardwicke and THE TIN MAN will run in The Diamond Jubilee if all goes well between now and then.
